On Wednesday, Pairi Daiza zoo in Belgium celebrated the 100th day of two female golden snub-nosed monkey cubs by officially naming them Zhenzhen and Xi Le, following a Chinese tradition that marks a newborn's transition to greater strength. The cubs are the offspring of three Qinling golden snub-nosed monkeys that arrived at the zoo in May 2025 under a conservation cooperation program between the China Wildlife Conservation Association and Pairi Daiza. This program represents the first long-term international conservation effort involving the endangered Qinling subspecies.
