The committee, reporting to Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana and CoGTA Minister Velenkosini Hlabisa, will monitor progress and resolve political obstacles hindering the intervention's success. The financial recovery plan reveals widespread rot, including political interference in recruitment and supply chain management, unaddressed wasteful expenditure, and litigation costs awarded to councillors that remain uncollected, highlighting a critical need for immediate systemic change.
