Government meeting reviews six-month performance, outlines tasks for second half 04.07.2026

The Vietnamese Government convened a June meeting and a teleconference on July 4 with 34 provincial authorities to review the socio-economic performance for the first half of 2026 and strategize for the latter half, aiming for double-digit economic growth. Prime Minister Lê Minh Hưng highlighted the complex global landscape, marked by geopolitical tensions and trade disruptions, which impacted Vietnam's economy alongside domestic challenges. Despite these pressures, the Government, with support from various political bodies and the business community, achieved positive socio-economic progress in the first six months. The meeting focused on analyzing achievements, forecasting future trends, addressing shortcomings, and devising comprehensive policies, particularly emphasizing institutional reforms, resource mobilization, and the promotion of innovation and digital transformation to ensure fast, sustainable development and meet the year's targets.
