Gozo is experiencing a significant electricity interruption after two of the three 33kV high-voltage feeders connecting the island to Malta developed faults, Enemalta confirmed on Friday evening. Technical teams are working to locate the cable faults to begin repairs, but with only one feeder currently available, there is insufficient capacity to restore electricity to all affected customers. The faults have also impacted one of Gozo's two distribution centers, further limiting supply. Enemalta is deploying additional teams and mobile generators to provide alternative power wherever technically possible, with electricity to be restored progressively as these resources come online. The company acknowledged the inconvenience caused, especially given the current heat.
