Gratificación: calculation errors could lead to fines exceeding S/ 110,000 04.07.2026

With only a few days remaining until the July 15 deadline for the Fiestas Patrias bonus (gratificación) payment, companies in Peru face the risk of fines exceeding S/ 110,000 if they make calculation errors. Specialists from Mandü point out that the most common failures do not stem from a lack of regulatory knowledge, but rather from data management issues, such as outdated information, the omission of remunerative concepts, or the use of manual procedures. It is crucial to validate the computable remuneration, which includes not only the basic salary but also allowances, commissions, regular overtime, and permanent bonuses. Additionally, the proportional bonus must be calculated for those who did not work the full semester, and the extraordinary bonus (9% or 6.75%) must be considered depending on health insurance affiliation.
