Great American State Fair kicks off 16-day celebration in Washington 26.06.2026

The Great American State Fair kicked off June 24 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., as part of the nation's semiquincentennial celebration backed by Freedom 250. Originally promoted as a major music festival with headliners including Martina McBride, C+C Music Factory, Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida, nearly all acts had dropped out by opening night. The remaining scheduled performers were Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida, but opening night instead featured country singer Lee Greenwood performing “God Bless the USA,” opera singer Christopher Macchio, the U.S. Marine Band and the U.S. Army Band. Alexis Wilkins, girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, sang the national anthem.
