Réservé auxx abonnés « Ils ont peur, certains ne dorment plus » : la Manchoise Annie Kerouedan raconte l’angoisse au GroenlandHier 17.02.2026

Annie Kerouedan, a retired gynecologist who practiced in Greenland for fourteen years, including eleven at the Ummannaq hospital, expresses deep concern for her Greenlandic friends amidst renewed threats of annexation by Donald Trump. Unlike previous instances, this time the threat is causing significant anxiety, with some Greenlanders experiencing sleepless nights and a sense of terrible insecurity. Kerouedan notes that while Greenlanders are welcoming and value peaceful resolution, their strategic location and resources have historically attracted covetousness. Despite a complex history with Denmark, including past injustices, Greenlanders are resolute in their desire for independence and emphatically do not wish to become the 51st U.S. state. Kerouedan, who established a twinning between Granville and Ummannaq in 2011, highlights the ongoing cultural exchanges and friendships between the two communities, with a festival planned for November 2027 in the Manche region.
