Actor Eric Dane, known for his role as Dr. Mark Sloan in "Grey's Anatomy," has died at the age of 53 from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Dane publicly disclosed his diagnosis in April, and the disease progressed rapidly. Following his death on Thursday, friends established a GoFundMe campaign named "Friends of the Dane Family" to raise $250,000 for his daughters, 15-year-old Billie Beatrice and 13-year-old Georgia Geraldine, who are from his marriage to Rebecca Gayheart. By Saturday morning, the campaign had already raised nearly $130,000, with Sam and Ashley Lent Levinson donating the largest sum of $27,000. Dane had become an advocate for the ALS community after his diagnosis, using his platform to raise awareness and support others with the disease. He also appeared in the HBO series "Euphoria."
