A joint report by Kyiv, the World Bank, the European Union, and the United Nations, released on February 23, 2026, estimates the total cost of Ukraine's reconstruction over the next decade at over 500 billion euros, a figure exceeding three times the country's projected GDP for 2025. This estimate, representing a 12% increase from the previous year's data, covers the 46 months from the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022 to December 2025. The most affected sectors requiring significant investment are housing, transport, and energy, with the capital city, Kyiv, alone needing over 15 billion dollars for reconstruction due to frequent drone and missile attacks. Western allies have provided over 400 billion dollars in financial, military, and humanitarian aid since the invasion began.
