Guerre en Ukraine : Face à la Russie, les deux visages de Trump et l’impuissance de l’Union Européenne 23.02.2026

On the 1,460th day of the war in Ukraine, the European Union faces a setback as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán vetoed a 20th package of sanctions against Russia, citing Ukraine's blockage of Russian oil transit via the Droujba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia. This action, occurring on the eve of the conflict's fourth anniversary, highlights European disunity, with Orbán also threatening to block €90 billion in EU aid to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico announced the cessation of emergency electricity deliveries to Kyiv due to the same oil transit issue, warning of further reciprocal measures if the situation persists and questioning Ukraine's EU accession prospects. The estimated cost of Ukraine's decade-long reconstruction is a staggering $588 billion, with significant needs in transportation, energy, housing, trade, industry, and agriculture.
