The delay was attributed to differing preferences for the wedding venue, with Van den Heuvel desiring an outdoor ceremony and Bruins preferring an indoor one. Bruins has three daughters from previous relationships, and together with the 39-year-old Van den Heuvel, he has two daughters, Mia (10) and Teddy (4). All five daughters are expected to play a role in the wedding ceremony. Van den Heuvel is also an actress, with credits including Soldaat van Oranje and Flikken Maastricht.
