Halt to Iran attacks means Netanyahu’s corruption trial will resume on April 12 09.04.2026

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's corruption trial is set to resume on April 12, following the lifting of a state of emergency imposed due to Iran's attacks, which began on February 28 after Israeli and US airstrikes on Iran. The emergency measures had closed schools and workplaces, but were rescinded on the evening of April 8 as no further Iranian missile threats were reported, coinciding with an agreed ceasefire. However, recent Israeli strikes in Lebanon targeting Hezbollah have raised concerns about the truce's stability. The court spokesperson confirmed that hearings will proceed as usual between Sundays and Wednesdays, with Netanyahu, who denies charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, facing potential jail time. His trial, initiated in 2019 and commenced in 2020, has been frequently postponed due to his official duties, and a pardon request has been made to President Isaac Herzog.
