Heatwave approaching: Warning for Norwegian tourists 07.07.2026

A heatwave is on its way from southwest Europe and is expected to reach Norway, with temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees in Eastern Norway this weekend. Meteorologist Leonidas Tsopouridis warns Norwegian tourists in Spain and France about extreme heat exceeding 40 degrees, recommending that they avoid the sun between 3 PM and 4 PM and drink plenty of water. In Norway, the temperature must be above 27 degrees for five consecutive days to be defined as a heatwave; so far, only Kongsberg and Nelaug have achieved this. The warm period could last until the end of next week. Meanwhile, the World Cup is underway, where Erling Braut Haaland has scored seven goals in four matches for Norway. TV 2 expert Jesper Mathisen believes Haaland surpasses Zlatan Ibrahimović as a goalscorer, and that Norway could beat England in the quarterfinals.
