Heavy rain in the Northeast today; Ti Yen River (Quang Ninh) flood levels may exceed Alarm Level 3 04.07.2026

Weather forecasts for July 5 indicate widespread heavy rain across the Northeast region, particularly in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, and Lang Son, with typical rainfall ranging from 100-200mm and exceeding 300mm in some areas. Due to the heavy rain, water levels on the Ti Yen River in Quang Ninh are forecasted to peak approximately 39cm above Alarm Level 3, posing a flood risk to riverside communes. Residents in mountainous areas of Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Son La, Lai Chau, and Nghe An should be particularly vigilant regarding landslides. Meanwhile, the Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh area will continue to experience thunderstorms, while the Northwest and Central regions will see scattered showers. In the Central Highlands and the South, thunderstorms are expected in the late afternoon and evening, accompanied by whirlwinds and strong gusts. Nationwide temperatures will range from 20-34°C.
