Het is steeds moeilijker te voorspellen wat het opladen van je auto kost 15.02.2026

The cost of charging an electric vehicle at public charging stations is becoming increasingly unpredictable and complex, unlike the straightforward pricing of gasoline. The final price is influenced by multiple factors including the charging station provider, the specific charging pass used, the duration of the charging session, and increasingly, the time of day. For instance, using Vattenfall's pass at their stations in Noord-Brabant or Limburg costs 32.6 cents per kilowatt-hour with no extra fees, resulting in €16.28 for a 50 kWh charge. However, using a Shell Recharge pass at the same Vattenfall station incurs a higher rate of 55 cents per kWh plus a 39-cent start-up fee, escalating the cost for the same 50 kWh charge to €27.89. This lack of transparency, characterized by a proliferation of charging passes and hidden fees like blocking tariffs and dynamic pricing, hinders consumer understanding and the broader adoption of electric vehicles, despite experts confirming that electric driving remains cheaper than gasoline overall.
