High fire risk in effect for all of Slovenia starting today 07.07.2026

The Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief has officially declared a high fire risk for the natural environment across the entire territory of Slovenia due to extreme weather conditions. The main reasons for this decision are prolonged dry and hot weather and a critical lack of sufficient precipitation, with these conditions expected to continue for at least another ten days. During the period this declaration is in effect, it is strictly forbidden to burn vegetation, discard burning objects, or substances that could cause a fire in the natural environment. Additionally, lighting fires, holding bonfires, and using any devices that could ignite a fire outside of built-up areas is prohibited. The Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief urges the public to attempt to extinguish any fire they observe and to immediately call the emergency number 112.
