At the end of April, the highest flood levels in Blöndu since measurements began were recorded. Approximately 626 cubic meters of water per second flowed into Blöndulón on April 28, which is about fifteen times the normal flow of Blöndu at Blönduós. This is twice the size of other floods for which Landsvirkjun has data.
