Korea's hotel industry is experiencing a significant investment boom as foreign investors, including Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, and Singapore-based CapitaLand Investment, capitalize on a surge in tourism coupled with a room supply crunch. The number of inbound travelers reached 12.8 million in the first seven months of the year, a 20 percent increase from the same period last year, according to the Korea Tourism Organization. Hotel transactions in Korea reached 1.1 trillion won ($800.6 million) in the first half of the year, a 71 percent on-year increase, outpacing all other major property sectors.
