How Indian designer drugs end up in Dutch mailboxes 04.06.2026

An investigation by NOS and Follow the Money (FTM) has revealed how Dutch traders are importing designer drugs from India on a large scale. Between 2019 and 2025, over 700 orders for such substances, like 2-MMC, 3-MMC, and flakka, were shipped from Indian factories to the Netherlands. This was often legal because the substances differed just enough from already prohibited substances. Indian companies, including PSN Medicare, manufactured medicines and agricultural chemicals, but also supplied designer drugs to order, sometimes after a simple WhatsApp message. The Dutch importer Trading Affairs played a central role in this, despite previous seizures of large drug shipments by the police. These imported substances, which are very cheap in India, were then resold to consumers via Dutch webshops with considerable profit.
