How Sweden aims to push for more support for Ukraine 03.07.2026

At the NATO summit in Ankara on July 7-8, Sweden will prioritize the issue of funding for Ukraine. A German proposal for 70 billion euros, equivalent to over 770 billion kronor, in military support for Ukraine during the year is on the table. Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) emphasized at a press conference on Friday that support for Ukraine is Sweden's foremost foreign policy priority and a genuine investment in European security. In addition to the support for Ukraine, the meeting will also focus on increasing Europe's defense capabilities and strengthening the defense industry.
