Hulporganisaties vechten verbod op activiteiten aan bij Israëlisch hooggerechtshof 24.02.2026

Seventeen humanitarian organizations, including Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam, the Norwegian Refugee Council, and CARE, have filed a petition with the Israeli Supreme Court to suspend a decision by Israel that would halt their operations in the Palestinian Territories. The organizations were informed in late 2025 that their permits were expiring and they had sixty days to cease activities. Permit renewals for 37 organizations were contingent on releasing personal information about foreign and Palestinian staff, which the NGOs refuse to do due to fears of Israeli screening and profiling. The Dutch Data Protection Authority previously ruled in August that the registration requirement forces organizations into a dilemma, potentially violating privacy rights if they comply or preventing aid delivery if they do not. The NGOs warn of catastrophic consequences for civilians, fearing a near standstill of humanitarian aid, while Israeli authorities claim an abundance of aid entering Gaza.
