ICD strikes numerous agreements with Azerbaijan - official 07.05.2026

The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) has finalized 21 agreements with nine Azerbaijani financial institutions, primarily commercial banks, as part of its ongoing cooperation with the country. Ulan Abylgaziev, Division Manager at ICD, announced this development during a presentation focused on preparations for the Islamic Development Bank Group's Annual Meeting. He highlighted that Europe and Central Asia, with Azerbaijan as a key participant, represent the largest segment of ICD's development portfolio, with a strong emphasis on trade finance. ICD provides alternative financing, including Islamic finance-compliant instruments, which are increasingly relevant for Azerbaijan as it adopts new business strategies. The organization's project approach centers on measurable outcomes, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals and involving collaborations with a range of financial entities.
