„Ich denke, ich stehe auf der richtigen Seite“: Freestyler berichtet nach Pinkel-Protest gegen ICE über Anfeindungen 21.02.2026

British freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy has spoken out about intense online backlash following his protest against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, which he executed by urinating the words "fuck ICE" into the snow shortly before the Winter Olympics in Italy. Kenworthy, a 2014 silver medalist who emigrated to the U.S. as a child, described the online abuse as "brutal and frightening and homophobic." He defended his actions, stating he felt compelled to use his platform to speak out against ICE's criticized practices, which have been linked to the deaths of migrants. Kenworthy reiterated his stance, asserting he believes he is on the "right side" of the issue, especially as U.S. Vice President JD Vance, whose security detail reportedly included ICE agents, was booed at the opening ceremony in Milan amidst prior protests against the agency.
