„Ich versuche, nicht zu sterben“: Alpen-Urlauber in Luxus-Skiort vermisst – Heimatland schaltet sich ein 23.02.2026

An Italian tourist, 25, has been missing since February 16th in the Swiss Alps near the luxury ski resort of St. Moritz following a solo hike at an altitude of approximately 2,700 meters. The man, described as an experienced mountaineer and former soldier with appropriate gear, was reportedly caught in a sudden snowstorm. His last known communication was a GPS-sent distress message to his brother stating, "I'm trying not to die." Swiss authorities have repeatedly suspended search operations due to adverse weather conditions, with resumption dependent on the weather. The case has escalated to involve the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Consulate in Zurich, who are actively monitoring the situation and supporting the family. The missing man's mother has offered a €50,000 reward for his safe return.
