Lors d'une intervention au forum d'investissement FII Priority, soutenu par l'Arabie saoudite, Donald Trump a publiquement raillé le prince héritier Mohammed ben Salmane (MBS). Trump a affirmé que MBS avait reconnu la transformation de l'Arabie saoudite en un pays majeur, ajoutant que le prince ne s'attendait pas à devoir "lui lécher les bottes", pensant avoir affaire à un président américain moins influent. Ces remarques interviennent alors que l'Arabie saoudite sollicite le soutien américain pour son offensive contre Téhéran, malgré une relation qui semblait auparavant cordiale, comme en témoigne un dîner organisé par Trump en l'honneur de MBS en novembre 2025.
