A man in his sixties has been placed in provisional detention in northern Sweden on suspicion of pimping, following a denunciation by his wife. The investigation centers on his alleged facilitation and financial benefit from his wife's prostitution, which reportedly involved over 100 clients between January 2022 and his arrest. While the wife, in her fifties, contacted the police, it remains unclear if she was coerced. Swedish law criminalizes the purchase of sexual services, not the sale. The suspect, who denies the charges, has prior convictions for assault and is known to police for tax fraud. Approximately 120 clients have been identified, though not all will face investigation.
