In Polen und Deutschland spioniert: Geheimdienst fasst mutmaßlichen belarussischen Agenten 23.02.2026

Polish intelligence services have apprehended a Belarusian national suspected of espionage activities across Germany, Poland, and Lithuania. The suspect, arrested in Poland in early February, is accused of surveying military installations and critical civilian infrastructure for Belarusian intelligence agencies since June 2024. This arrest is a result of collaborative efforts between Poland's Internal Security Agency (ABW), Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, and Lithuanian intelligence. The individual has been placed in pre-trial detention for an initial three-month period, facing a potential minimum of five years imprisonment if convicted. Poland, a significant supporter of Ukraine, has expressed concerns about increased agent recruitment and sabotage attempts by Russian and Belarusian intelligence services.
