In the Czech Republic, nearly two daily doses of medicine were allocated per person on average last year 03.07.2026

According to the annual report of the State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL), each resident of the Czech Republic received an average of nearly two recommended daily doses of medicine last year. The daily average amounted to 1,992 doses per 1,000 inhabitants, which is 143 more than in 2021. In total, 267 million packages were delivered to pharmacies and healthcare facilities, valued at nearly 105 billion Czech koruna according to manufacturers. Of the more than 66,000 registered medicines, 9,702 were actually traded, with more than 6,600 reimbursed through public health insurance. The majority of medicines (70%) were prescription-only, while over-the-counter medicines accounted for a value of approximately 235.5 million koruna. Approximately 1.9 million packages of homeopathic remedies were also delivered to the Czech Republic.
