Increase in Tobacco Tax: 70 Percent of Germans Favor Higher Cigarette Prices 14.07.2026
According to a recent Forsa survey commissioned by "Stern" and RTL, 70 percent of Germans support higher cigarette prices, while 27 percent are opposed. Support comes predominantly from supporters of the CDU/CSU (Union), SPD, Greens, and the Left. Opposition comes mainly from regular smokers and supporters of the AfD.
