India warns Pak on Op Sindoor anniversary, says ‘right to defend’ absolute | India News 07.05.2026

India has reaffirmed its right to self-defense against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism on the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, a military response to the Pahalgam terror attack of April last year. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that Operation Sindoor, conducted on May 7, 2025, demonstrated India's resolve and effectively countered terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The attack, claimed by The Resistance Front, a proxy for Lashkar-e-Taiba, resulted in the deaths of 26 men. Following the attack, India also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, with Jaiswal emphasizing that "blood and water cannot flow together" until Pakistan ceases its support for terrorism.
