A high-level Indian delegation, including Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain and Deputy Foreign Minister Pabitra Margherita, has left for Iran to attend the state funeral of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The Indian Foreign Ministry stated that this representation highlights the importance of civilizational and people-to-people ties between the two nations. Other Indian political figures, such as former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Congress leader Salman Khurshid, have also traveled to Tehran to pay their respects. Mufti expressed her condolences on social media, calling it an honor to be in Tehran. While Iran invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he will not attend due to a scheduled three-nation tour of Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand.
