The Edmonton Police Service announced the arrest of Safaldeep Singh on Thursday, June 23, after he was apprehended and charged with trafficking in property obtained by crime, possession of stolen property, and unauthorized possession of a firearm. Singh, who was wanted on Canada-wide warrants related to conspiracy to commit murder and extortion, is suspected of links to the “For Brothers” gang, described by authorities as an organized criminal network involved in shootings and extortion targeting Indo-Canadian business owners and community members across the Greater Toronto Area and the United States. He has been transferred to Ontario to face additional charges. Staff Sergeant Eric Stewart of EPS emphasized the coordinated multi-jurisdictional approach to investigating extortion networks, focusing on intelligence collection and enforcement across provinces.
