Indonesia moves closer to CPTPP membership with accession talks 03.07.2026

Indonesia has taken a significant step toward joining the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), as member states agreed to launch accession discussions for the country, along with the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that the decision was made during the 10th commission meeting held virtually on June 26. He expressed confidence in a smooth process, noting that Indonesia’s domestic regulations are already aligned with most CPTPP provisions, having synchronized 22 chapters and submitted a questionnaire to New Zealand, the depository country, on May 12, 2025.
