The Canton of Solothurn has published the results of an external investigation into the Ramiswil animal welfare case. The report, conducted by a law firm, concludes that the euthanasia of all 122 dogs on the farm in November 2025 was not justified. While the decision regarding 99 dogs is assessed as correct—as they were unsocialized livestock guardian dogs for whom there were no realistic alternatives—no sufficiently differentiated triage was performed for the remaining 23 animals.
