« Vous n’y arriverez pas » : en Iran, le guide suprême Khamenei dit que Donald Trump ne détruira pas son paysà 12h56 17.02.2026

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Tuesday that U.S. President Donald Trump will not succeed in destroying the Islamic Republic of Iran, addressing the nation as indirect talks between Iran and the U.S. commenced near Geneva, Switzerland. These discussions, facilitated by the Sultanate of Oman, aim to de-escalate tensions and avert potential U.S. military intervention, with Tehran cautiously noting signs of a "more realistic" American stance on the nuclear issue. The dialogue follows an initial meeting in Muscat on February 6th, amidst escalating threats from both sides. Khamenei also asserted Iran's capability to sink the U.S. aircraft carrier stationed off its coast, underscoring the ongoing military posturing, including Iranian naval exercises in the Strait of Hormuz, while the U.S. maintains its naval presence and threat of severe consequences should an agreement not be reached.
