Israel bombed Gaza on 36 of the past 40 days while the war raged in Iran 09.04.2026

Amidst a 40-day war involving the United States and Iran, which is set to enter a two-week ceasefire with talks in Islamabad, Pakistan, Israel has maintained a near-daily bombing campaign in Gaza. Since February 28, Israel has attacked Gaza on 36 of the past 40 days, resulting in at least 107 deaths and 342 injuries between February 28 and April 8. This ongoing conflict has exacerbated a severe humanitarian crisis, with Israel also closing the Rafah crossing and restricting vital food and medical supplies, leaving 77 percent of Gaza's population facing acute food insecurity. Furthermore, Israel launched a significant attack on Lebanon on Wednesday, killing 254 people, and on the same day, Al Jazeera correspondent Mohammed Wiswash was killed in a drone strike in Gaza.
