Israel is building more military posts in Gaza, satellite imagery shows 03.06.2026

Satellite imagery analyzed by Al Jazeera's Open Source Unit reveals that Israel has constructed 40 distinct military outposts in Gaza, with eight established after the October 2025 ceasefire. These bases, including newly built installations and significantly upgraded existing ones, are strategically dispersed across the Strip, with a notable concentration around the Netzarim Corridor. This construction, which began in November 2025 and continued through May 2026, contradicts the ceasefire agreement's stipulation for a full Israeli troop withdrawal and suggests territorial ambitions beyond temporary buffer zones. The fortified positions, connected by defensive structures, encircle Palestinian population centers, restricting civilian movement and land access, and have been identified as a violation of the US-brokered agreement.
