Israeli attacks continue in the South: airstrike on Nabatiyé el-Faouqa, demolitions, and machine-gun fire 05.07.2026

Tensions escalated in South Lebanon between July 4 and July 5, 2026, marked by an intensification of Israeli military operations. Airstrikes and machine-gun fire targeted Nabatiyé el-Faouqa and Majdel Zoun, while demolitions were reported in Haddatha and Tiri. The Israeli army claimed to have eliminated an armed fighter in the Majdel Zoun sector. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the idea of American pressure to limit attacks against Hezbollah tunnels. The death toll continues to rise, with the Ministry of Health reporting 4,304 deaths since the conflict began on March 2. On the ground, General Eyal Zamir assured that the army is prepared to launch an offensive if the ceasefire is violated, as vast wildfires also ravage the region.
