James Rodríguez ties Ospina for most appearances for the Colombia National Team: list 07.07.2026

Midfielder James Rodríguez has reached a historic milestone, tying David Ospina for the most appearances played with the Colombia National Team. After starting in the 2026 World Cup Round of 16 match against Switzerland, Rodríguez reached his 131st appearance, surpassing the record held by Ospina. Since his debut in October 2011 against Bolivia, the midfielder has accumulated appearances in World Cup qualifiers, the Copa América, and three World Cups. Additionally, James set a new individual record as the Colombian with the most appearances in World Cup tournaments, with 13 matches, surpassing legends such as Carlos Valderrama and Freddy Rincón. Currently, alongside Ospina and Dávinson Sánchez, he is one of the few active players in the national team's all-time top 10.
