Jan Slagter trekt stekker uit songfestivalplannen Omroep MAX: 'Past niet bij ons' 01.09.2026

Jan Slagter, directeur van Omroep MAX, heeft aangekondigd dat zijn omroep geen plannen heeft om het Eurovisie Songfestival over te nemen van AVROTROS. Dit besluit volgt op de eerdere aankondiging van AVROTROS dat zij in 2027 opnieuw niet zullen deelnemen vanwege de deelname van Israël en de oorlog in Gaza. Slagter gaf in het programma Renze aan dat het songfestival "niet bij ons past" en dat zijn doelgroep er niet op zit te wachten. Hij voegde eraan toe dat hij zelf na drie nummers al weg is en de muziek als "lawaai en pokkeherrie" beschouwt.
