Stéphane Lorget, a farmer and cereal grower in Ressons, Aisne, is facing severe financial hardship, earning only a meager 1,200 euros per month despite working extremely long hours. His daily routine begins before dawn, tending to his 95 Charolais cows and maintaining his 80 hectares of pastures, which often involves repairs. During harvest season, his workday can extend from 7 AM to 3 AM the following morning, while also managing 220 hectares of cultivated land. This relentless workload and the overwhelming burden of expenses have left him deeply unhappy and questioning his ability to continue farming for another twenty years.
