Emmy-winning actress Jean Smart, 74, has revealed she underwent emergency triple-bypass heart surgery after mistaking serious symptoms for fatigue and being in "crappy shape." Smart recounted experiencing chest pressure when climbing stairs and feeling tired during filming for "Hacks" at the University of California, Berkeley, but dismissed these as signs of needing more exercise. Prompted by the memory of her husband's death in 2021, she contacted her cardiologist, who immediately advised her to go to the nearest emergency room. Smart was then informed she required a triple bypass, not a stent, and later shared her recovery on social media in February 2023, urging others to listen to their bodies.
