JO 2026 : jambe cassée ou cœur brisé, les chutes sont plus belles aux Jeux olympiques d’hiver 21.02.2026

The Winter Olympics, particularly the Milan-Cortina Games in Italy, are characterized by dramatic falls, captivating audiences with both thrilling and comical mishaps. On February 8th, just two days after the opening ceremony, American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn, a favorite for the women's downhill, suffered a severe crash on the Olimpia delle Tofane course in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Despite her familiarity with the track, where speeds exceed 130 km/h, the 41-year-old athlete collided with a gate shortly after starting, resulting in a fractured left leg. This incident garnered significant attention as Vonn had opted to compete with a completely torn left knee ligament, sustained a week prior, leading to public debate about her decision and necessitating multiple surgeries.
