At the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Chinese aerial skier Xindi Wang secured the gold medal, two days after his wife, Mengato Xu, achieved the same feat in the women's event. Wang's winning score of 132.60 points in the final surpassed that of reigning world champion Noé Roth of Switzerland, who took silver. The 30-year-old Wang, a silver medalist at the 2019 World Championships and a previous Olympian, expressed that by achieving his dream, he also fulfilled his wife's long-held wish for them to become an Olympic champion couple. The couple, married since 2022, may add to their medal count in the mixed team aerials event.
