JO d’hiver : "C’était sa porte de sortie…" De l’obscurité à l’éclat de l’or, le parcours hors norme du skieur Nicolas Bérejny 21.02.2026

Nicolas Bérejny, a visually impaired alpine skier from Gers, France, has achieved a remarkable career with four Paralympic medals, including three golds, solidifying his status as a prominent figure in French sports. His journey began after a severe work accident in the late 1990s cost him partial sight, leading him to find solace and a new path in skiing, guided initially by his friend Jean-Philippe Mauriet. After missing the 2002 Salt Lake City Paralympics and facing a setback due to Mauriet's injury, Bérejny partnered with his companion Sophie Troc. Together, they achieved significant success at the 2006 Turin Paralympics, winning two gold medals and a bronze, followed by another gold in the Super-G at the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics. Now a 57-year-old businessman, Bérejny's story exemplifies resilience and serves as an inspiring example for future generations.
