John Lithgow and Lesley Manville lead Tony Award winners 08.06.2026

The 2024 Tony Awards celebrated outstanding achievements in US theatre, with John Lithgow, Lesley Manville, and Laurie Metcalf among the prominent winners. At 80, Lithgow secured a record as the oldest male actor to win a Tony, for his role as Roald Dahl in *Giant*, marking a significant gap of 53 years since his first win. British actress Manville earned her inaugural Tony for portraying Jocasta in *Oedipus*, expressing her overwhelming emotion as a first-time Broadway performer. Arthur Miller's *Death of a Salesman* was a major success, garnering six awards including best revival of a play and lead actress for Metcalf. The production also marked a return for producer Scott Rudin, whose win for best play revival was accepted by Nathan Lane.
