Johor polls: Umno postpones delegates' meetings to July 03.06.2026

Umno has postponed its national delegates' meetings, originally scheduled for June, to July 17-19 and July 24-26. This decision, approved by the party's supreme council, is to allow Umno members at all levels to fully concentrate on preparations for the upcoming Johor state election. The Johor state assembly was dissolved on June 1 by Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi with the consent of the Regent of Johor, paving the way for the election to occur within 60 days. In the 2022 Johor election, the Umno-led Barisan Nasional secured a significant victory, winning 40 out of 56 contested seats.
