In a frank statement reported by Sinar Harian, Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim (TMJ) disclosed his active role in supervising the state government’s performance. He said he personally contacts Menteri Besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi and the state secretary to inquire about unresolved issues, even phoning them at 3am if necessary. TMJ stressed that this close monitoring prevents any party from accusing the state government of neglecting its duties or failing the people. “I am monitoring my government. I make sure that it does its job,” he asserted.
