Faruqui compared Allen’s treatment unfavorably to Jan. 6 defendants, demanding the DC Department of Corrections provide a housing update by May 5. While prosecutors cited Allen’s prior statements as justification for initial precautions, the judge labeled the conditions excessive. Allen, who faces life imprisonment, awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 11 to address the serious attempted assassination and firearm charges.
