The Regional Government of Junín, led by Governor Zósimo Cárdenas, has reaffirmed its commitment to financing the completion of the paving of the Chongos Bajo–Chambará highway. Following a meeting with mayors and community leaders, the continuity of this strategic project—which connects the districts of Chongos Bajo, Iscos, Ahuac, Huachac, and Chambará—was confirmed. Currently, the project shows an advancement of nearly 30% and requires approximately S/42 million to be secured for its total completion. The Mayor of Huachac, Yover Carhuamaca, highlighted that although S/16 million has been executed and S/6.2 million has been allocated for debts, there are still valuations pending evaluation. Despite the contractual deadline expiring in February 2027, the population demands the conclusion of the works this year to avoid interruptions caused by changes in local authorities.
